February 2008

The Oyster Bay Railroad Museum has open a preview center in Oyster Bay. While work is in progress on the former LIRR station and our display yard, the preview center will act as a place where we can invite the public to get to know us.

A selection of informative, entertaining exhibits have been set up to give a brief history of the Long Island Rail Road in general and the significance of Oyster Bay to it specifically.

On January 30, 2008 we held the official opening ceremony of the preview center and on February 2, 2008 a public opening was held. Below are some photos from the official ceremony.

Assemblyman Rob Walker presents a proclamation to the Oyser Bay Railroad Museum

(Pat Aiken, Steve Torborg, Judy Wasilchuk, Gary Farkash, Ben Jankowski, Rob Walker, Liz Irwin, John Speece and Josh Stoff)

Coming soon we will have regular operating hours for the preview center, so if you didn't get the chance to see it yet, please stay tuned for when you will be able to expirience it for yourself.

June 2008

On June 26, we held our Second Annual Summer Solstice Wine Tasting. A good time was had by all. Click here to read more about it.
